The 5K run and 1-mile walk will benefit the Penn State Berks Chapter of the Student Veterans of America.

The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, with a rain date of Sunday, Sept. 8, and is open to students, faculty, staff, family members and the community. Check-in and last-minute registration begin at 11 a.m. in front of the Perkins Student Center and the run begins at 1 p.m.

Prior to the start of the run, games will be hosted by Orientation Leaders with performances by the JROTC Drill Team. The cost to participate is $20 for the general public, $10 for children under age 12, and the event is free to students with valid Penn State ID. Prior to the run, pre-registration will be held for students during Club Rush on Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Participants can also register at SVAPSUBerks.org.

Runners must check in prior to the event, at which time they will receive a T-shirt, bandana and sunglasses. Following the run, participants will be invited to a free catered lunch at the Alumni Pavilion.
