Penn State Berks will join a national movement to raise awareness about issues related to hunger by hosting its first Oxfam Hunger Banquet for students at 7 p.m. on March 23 in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. This event is open to current Penn State Berks students.

Penn State Berks, a leader in developing open educational resources to enhance learning and lower the cost of education for students globally, will celebrate Open Education Week from March 27 to 31, an event promoted by the Open Education Consortium.

As part of the Great American Cleanup, Penn State Berks students and children in the city of Reading will gather in Northwest Reading to clean up Baer Park and a 1-mile section of the Schuylkill River Trail, from the River Road trailhead across from Baer Park to the Buttonwood Street Bridge, from 4 to 6 p.m. on April 3.

“Be Bold, Take Charge,” a multi-sector community health initiative between Penn State Berks and Penn State Health St. Joseph, is hosting a professional clothing drive in partnership with Goodwill Industries and Berks Connections Pretrial Services through April 2.

In the sixth annual George J. Losoncy Lecture in Physics and Astronomy, Alexey Prokudin, assistant professor of physics at Penn State Berks, will give a presentation titled “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Proton,” from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. March 30 in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium.

Penn State Berks Police Services will hold a Mock DUI program titled “Reality Check” at 7 p.m. April 4 on Clary Drive, located behind the turf athletic field.

The Penn State Berks Theatre Department will present "Godspell, The Musical," composed by Stephen Schwartz, libretto written by John-Michael Tebelak, April 5 to 8 in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium.

Christine Sleeter, professor emerita at California State University, Monterey Bay, will present a lecture titled "Curriculum and Pedagogy for New Majorities" at 12:15 p.m. March 29 in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.

The Penn State Berks Student Veteran Coalition is teaming with the Student Veterans of America to hold its fourth annual ROY G. BIV Memorial Run. The event will begin at 1 p.m. April 8.

Penn State Berks will host the American Society of Engineers (ASME) Anthracite–Lehigh Valley Section Student Competition from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 30, in the Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building. This event is open to ASME members, and a light meal will be served.
