Gabriela “Gabby” Gonzalez Magana is a Penn State senior majoring in computer engineering with a concentration in robotics. She emigrated to the United States from Mexico in 2011 at the age of 13. “Now, I am making plans to graduate with a B.S. in computer engineering from Penn State in December 2020 and want to earn a Ph.D. and work in industry," Magana said.
Internationally acclaimed educator, lecturer, and author of this year’s Common Reading selection Saundra McGuire will visit Penn State Berks to discuss her book and share the tools and strategies.

Penn State Berks will host the second annual Fall Fest on Friday, Oct. 25. The event has two-parts — a family-oriented program from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Perkins Plaza and the “witching hour” haunted tours from 7 to 10 p.m.
The Penn State Berks Freyberger Gallery will host the Nancey Seghetti Memorial Exhibition in memory of the late artist from Oct. 17 to Nov. 14, with an opening reception at 6 p.m. Oct. 24.
Prospective students are invited to a Penn State Berks admissions program and tour from 9 a.m. (registration starts at 8:30 a.m.) Saturday, Oct. 12, in the Perkins Student Center, located just off Broadcasting Road in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.
As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, Penn State Berks will host its seventh annual Latino Forum for high school students from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 18.
