From hand-dipped Berkey Creamery ice cream to weekly burrito bars and surf-and-turf nights, dining at Penn State Berks has gotten a major overhaul since Jonathan Kukta became the campus' director of Housing and Food Services on July 1.

Penn State Berks Benefiting THON, a student group, will hold a “Showcase of Art,” an exhibition of selected work submitted by third- and fourth-graders in Berks County school districts, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29, in the Janssen Conference Center, Penn State Berks. This event is free and open to the public.

The Penn State Berks Punjabi Culture Club is hosting a Turban Day from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, in the Lion’s Den, Perkins Student Center. This event is open to Penn State Berks students, faculty and staff.

A Penn State Berks engineering student and Schreyer Scholar has furthered the motor-control research of his professor after changing his own original career path.

Austin Fruin, a biochemistry and molecular biology major, will graduate on Dec. 15 as Penn State Berks student marshal.

Penn State Berks students and Olivet Boys & Girls Club children will participate in a “Water Ecology Learning Day” event from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at the Olivet Boys & Girls Club Clinton Street location. 

The Penn State Berks Theatre Department will present the annual Fall Festival of Plays, a showcase of student written and produced plays, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium on campus. This event is free and open to the public.

On Dec. 15, 2017, Kathy Cavanaugh, a communication arts and sciences major, will walk across the stage to receive her diploma in front of her three children, as well as her co-workers and friends at Penn State Berks.

The Freyberger Gallery will host a special exhibition of photography by Niko J. Kallianiotis titled "America in a Trance." The exhibit runs from Jan. 18 to Feb. 22, 2018, with an opening reception at 6 p.m. on Jan. 18.

Military Times recently announced its "Military Times Best: Colleges 2018" rankings, and Penn State Berks was included on the list of best colleges for service members, military veterans and their families. Ranked at No. 128, Berks is the only Penn State campus — and one of just six colleges in Pennsylvania — to appear on the list in the 4-year-schools category.
