What happens when a college, a high school and local artists join together to celebrate diversity? The result is ‘Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges,’ an evening of multicultural performances of dance, music, spoken word and art. This event will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, April 29, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium on Penn State Berks campus. The program is free and open to the public, but seating is limited and registration is required.

Rungun Nathan, professor and chair of the mechanical engineering degree program at Penn State Berks, was the winner of the Open Innovation Challenge, part of Penn State TLT's Symposium for Teaching and Learning with Technology, on March 19.

A digital solution to problems faced by both tenants and property owners was the winning idea in the 2022 Bardusch Family IdeaMakers Challenge, held April 6 during Penn State Startup Week and hosted by the College of Information Sciences and Technology.

Penn State Berks students traveled to Mexico City during Spring Break from March 5 to March 12, but it wasn’t for fun in the sun. The trip was embedded in the Modern Latin American History honors course in which the students were enrolled.

It was a long and winding road for Maxime “Max” Boudeau, originally from Haiti, to Penn State Berks. He will earn his baccalaureate degree in mechanical engineering at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, during the college’s commencement ceremony at the Santander Arena.

The Penn State Berks Freyberger Gallery will present “Bird Call: Studies and Actions Dedicated to Biodiversity,” an intermedia exhibition that blends 2D and 3D works by local artists and study participants alongside time-based works by contemporary new media artists. The exhibition runs May 2-14.

Earning a degree may help you to achieve career advancement and enhance your professional skills; however, it can be difficult for adults to juggle their family responsibilities and careers. The Office of Continuing Education will hold an adult student information session beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, in room 101, Franco Building. Attendees must register in advance. 

When Kelly Whalen was applying to colleges, Penn State Berks was at the top of her list. In fact, it was the only college on her list. On May 7, she will join the ‘lion’s pride’ when she walks across the stage as student marshal to receive her diploma from Penn State Berks.
