Mahdi Nasereddin, associate professor of information sciences and technology at Penn State Berks, was recently named the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) Statewide Faculty Member of the Year.

The Penn State Berks Theatre Department will present "Independence,” written by Lee Blessing, at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Feb. 20-23, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium.

Penn State Berks honored two high school students, three college students, and a faculty and staff member during this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. awards banquet on Jan. 21.

Nearly 400 students from across the region visited Penn State Berks on Saturday, Jan. 26, to compete in the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) LEGO League competition.

This support will help underwrite her year-long sabbatical to expand her theoretical astrophysics and cosmology research of the universe and objects in the universe.

A research paper co-authored by Sadan Kulturel-Konak and Abdullah Konak titled, "Assessment of Progressive Learning of Ethics in Engineering Students Based on the Model of Domain Learning," has been recognized as the American Society for Engineering Education Best All-Zones Paper.

In honor of Black History Month, Penn State Berks will hold the following events in February 2019. All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

Penn State Berks students will be volunteering in the local community throughout the month of February, including a Super Bowl tailgate party for the residents of Country Meadows of Wyomissing from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3.

Chantale Lussier, assistant professor in the School of Counselling, Psychotherapy, and Spirituality at Saint Paul University in Ontario, Canada, will present “Inspiring Sustainable Excellence: Stories from Sport, Academia, and Life” from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Feb. 4 in Room 5 of the Luerssen Building at Penn State Berks.

Lorena Tribe, professor of chemistry at Penn State Berks, was named chair of the American Chemical Society (ACS) Division of Colloid and Surface Chemistry (COLL) on Jan. 1.
