Penn State York held a candlelight vigil in 2014-15 to increase awareness of child sexual abuse. The fourth annual vigil, in November 2014, was sponsored by the Penn State York Council on Family Relations Club and the Student Veterans Association.

Senators Argall and Schwank to visit Penn State Berks on March 29

Pennsylvania State Senators David Argall (R-Schuylkill/Berks) and Judy Schwank (D-Berks) will visit Penn State Berks for a "Lunch with Legislators" program, organized by the Penn State Berks Student Government Association. The program will be held from 1-2 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. This event is open to the entire campus community, and a light lunch will be served.

Theatre Department presents “Baby with the Bathwater”

The Penn State Berks Department of Theatre will present Baby with the Bathwater, by Christopher Durang. This spring mainstage production opens on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, and runs though Friday, April 22, at 8 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for Penn State students, faculty, and staff with Penn State ID; $10 for the general public.

MBA Information Session slated for April 28

Penn State Berks will hold an information session for the MBA program on Thursday, April 28, 2016, from 6-7 p.m. in room 157, Franco Building, Penn State Berks. Penn State Great Valley offers its MBA at Penn State Berks. The Penn State Great Valley MBA program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB). This MBA program prepares tomorrow's leaders in strategic thinking, effective communication, and ethical leadership, while giving students an opportunity to customize their study in core market areas.

"Weird and Superstitious" lecture explores impact of horror films

Dr. Kendall Phillips, Professor of Communication and Rhetorical Studies and Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at Syracuse University, will present a lecture titled "Weird and Superstitious: Horrific Cinema and the Construction of American National Identity" on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at 7 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. This lecture is free and open to the public.

Penn State Berks will hold an information session for the master of business administration program from 6 to 7 p.m. April 28 in Room 157 of the Franco Building on campus. Penn State Great Valley offers its MBA course at Penn State Berks.

Coding Bootcamp gives students, professionals competitive edge

Current college students and professionals who want a competitive edge can "enlist" in the Penn State Berks Coding Bootcamp. This new summer program will provide in-depth training in JAVA programming with the goal of helping current college students get ahead in their studies and eventually the job market, while giving professionals a competitive advantage in their careers. Penn State Berks is the only college in Berks County to offer such a program.
