Constitution Day, Sept. 17, will be marked with several events at Penn State campuses across the commonwealth. Established by law in 2004, Constitution Day is a federal observance that commemorates the U.S. Constitution on the day it was signed in 1787. Sept. 17 is also National Voter Registration Day.
Prospective students and their families are invited to a visitation program at Penn State Berks from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 4, in the Beaver Athletics and Wellness Center, located just off Broadcasting Road in Wyomissing. The event is part of the University's "Penn State Day" in which Penn State campuses throughout the state host visitation programs during the months of September and October. Attendees must register in advance.
Praveen Veerabhadrappa, associate professor of kinesiology at Penn State Berks, was honored with the Keynote Speaker Award for his talk titled 'Tracking the truth: Evaluating the accuracy of wearable fitness technology' at the 4th International Cardiology Congress, in Zurich, Switzerland, in June 2025.
Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) has named 15 recipients of the 2025 Faculty Engagement Awards with this year’s theme of “Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Teaching including Microsoft Copilot 365.” Recipients will collaborate with TLT to experiment with AI-driven tools to support course planning, content design and instructional delivery.
Twelve Penn State alumni will be honored for their outstanding professional accomplishments and named Alumni Fellows, the most prestigious designation given by the Penn State Alumni Association.
As Penn State Berks Athletics continues to grow, Jeff and Sue Berkel and their family recently made immediate and estate commitments totaling $100,000, representing the largest single gift in the program’s history.
Nearly 100 students earned a place on the Penn State Berks summer 2025 dean’s list. To earn a dean’s list designation, students must end the semester with a 3.5 grade-point average or higher.
As part of the college’s ongoing efforts to engage with and support the local Hispanic and Latino communities, Penn State Berks will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month Sept. 15 – Oct. 15, with a variety of vibrant events, educational presentations and cultural showcases. These events include dynamic speakers, Latin cuisine, music, dancing and much more. All events are free and open to the public and most are held at Penn State Berks, except "Connect & Inspire," which will be held at Centro Hispano in downtown Reading.
This summer, Penn State Berks held its inaugural Biology Ahead summer bridge program for incoming students interested in majoring in biology or a related life science. The goal of the program, which ran from July 6 to July 14, is to enhance academic preparedness and create a support system for a diverse group of students studying the biological sciences.
Penn State Berks supports workforce advancement through its continuing education division by offering comprehensive preparation courses for two prestigious industry certifications: the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) / SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and the Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
